Do you love forecasting, storytelling, technology, and connecting with audiences across every platform? Hawaii News Now is looking for an innovative Streaming Meteorologist to join one of the most respected and established weather teams in the country. This is not a traditional meteorologist’s role.
We are seeking a dynamic weather communicator who thrives in a fast-moving, multi-platform environment and is excited to help shape the future of weather coverage across broadcast, streaming, digital, mobile, and social platforms.
You’ll join a highly talented, collaborative weather team known for excellence, innovation, and deep community connection in one of the most unique forecasting environments in the world.
Responsibilities:
Duties/Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: What You’ll Do: • Deliver accurate, compelling weather forecasts across television, streaming, digital, apps, and social platforms • Create engaging weather storytelling tailored to different audiences and platforms • Develop and host specialty weather programming and streaming content, including explainers, deep dives, severe weather coverage, and innovative digital-first formats • Produce weather-related content for breaking coverage, enterprise reporting, and community impact storytelling • Build visually compelling weather presentations through strong use of graphics, data visualization, and weather technology • Edit and package digital weather content quickly and creatively for streaming and online audiences • Collaborate closely with newsroom, digital, production, and weather teammates to innovate and elevate coverage • Help grow audience engagement through fresh ideas, experimentation, and a strong understanding of evolving audience habitsRequirements:
Qualifications/Requirements: What We’re Looking For: • Strong forecasting ability and excellent presentation skills • A natural communicator who can make complex weather understandable, relevant, and engaging • Experience creating content across TV, streaming, digital, mobile, apps, and social platforms • Strong graphic building and visual storytelling skills • Video editing experience with the ability to independently create polished content • Comfortable with live coverage, breaking weather, and fast-paced decision-making • A collaborative, positive, team-first mindset • A spirit of innovation, curiosity, and willingness to experiment with new formats and ideasContact:
