The Digital Content Producer position will require night and weekend work and overtime, as needed, depending on breaking news and major stories. The expectation is that work will be done in the office. Remote work only allowed in situations where illness or exposure to illness could compromise the office setting.

Responsibilities:

Writing compelling content and headlines for stories from a variety of sources, including: press releases, reporter scripts, live press conferences, live reporter stories, and social media posts. Clipping and uploading videos and providing them with similarly compelling headlines and thumbnails. Writing self-generated content. Use digital and social analytics to inform content decisions, in consultation with the senior digital producer Assist with all WWL-TV digital, mobile, social, audio and streaming products, with an emphasis on ensuring quality in content, SEO strategy, story layouts, headline testing, and conversational push alerts, etc.

Requirements:

Experience: 1 – 3 years BA or BS in communications or journalism and/or experience operating in a journalistic newsroom setting. Sound news judgment and a love for reading and producing news journalism. A good work ethic and ability to collaborate with others. Samples of some of your writing work. A completed writing and AP style test (no more than 45 minutes in duration). Travel: Rarely: less than 10% Work Environment Set: Office: normally performed in a typical interior/office environment.
