The General Sales Manager is responsible for the revenue goals of the television station. All areas of broadcast time and revenue are under his/her supervision (Local, Regional, Digital and Internet revenue). The General Sales Manager oversees the Local Sales Manager, the sales staff and sales assistants. The GSM will be responsible for helping Account Executives implement the company’s advertising platforms and marketing strategy, identifying and qualifying leads while consistently closing business in order to meet or exceed their sales quota
Bachelor’s degree In Business or Marketing or equivalent. Strong people skills and the ability to communicate with other people are necessary .Prior advertising sales experience preferred including print, television, radio, outdoor. Strong Management skills. Valid Driver’s license, and good driving record (will be reviewed)
Requirements:Five years’ experience in broadcast sales or equivalent. Some broadcast sales management experience. The GSM is responsible for achieving station revenue goals, sets pricing and inventory management for station. Tracks pending business and makes each salesperson aware of his/her pending sales as it relates to the monthly goal. Responsible for developing and implementing the station sales marketing plan. Supervises the Sales staff and sales assistants. Must be able to travel nationally to meet with clients and corporate meetings with occasional overnight travel
