The Digital Account Executive (AE) sells comprehensive digital media solutions to local/regional accounts to achieve sales targets and maximize revenue. The focus of this position is new business development.


Identify and qualify new business prospects, Business to Consumer and Business to Business, develop new client relationships & key accounts Create customized media plans for buyers leveraging Nexstar Digital’s full suite of products that include but not limited to: OTT, Video, Social, Email, Digital Audio, and programmatic Research business categories and trends and adjusts sales strategy accordingly Ensure clear understanding of clients’ goals and needs, and recommend appropriate solutions Manage new business pipeline and project revenue utilizing a CRM (Matrix) Fluency in ad technology with strong communication and presentation skills Maintain close communication at various stages in the sales cycle including account updates, weekly projections & forecasting Ability to credibly influence decision makers Demonstrated track record of strategic sales and revenue growth in the digital ecosystem Monitor Accounts Receivable to ensure advertiser pays within established credit terms Sell digital/station sales initiatives and programs Occasionally assist local account executives in “four-legged” call situations as assigned by Digital Sales Manager Ability and willingness to take on additional opportunities as digital revenues increase NOTE: This job description contains the basic requirements for the position and is NOT intended to be a complete list of responsibilities, other duties may be assigned.


Specialized Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
  • Must have demonstrated experience and success in new business development Significant knowledge of online/digital advertising tools to advise advertisers and peer advertising sales representatives on the effective use of online/digital advertising
  • Ability to analyze digital performance metrics, identify trends and make appropriate recommendations for campaign refinement and/or optimizations
  • Ability to conduct a comprehensive needs analysis
  • Independent, results focused with strong problem solving, business writing, communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, virtually and in person
  • Must be able and motivated to work virtually and produce measurable sales results
  • Well organized, professional, positive, and detail oriented
  • Depth of knowledge with both sales’ acumen & digital marketing
  • Proficient in PowerPoint, Excel, and ability to become proficient with in-house sales systems
  • Minimum 2 years sales experience in digital media sales
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience
  • A valid driver’s license, state mandated automobile insurance and an acceptable driving record are required
