Positions in the Procurement series operate in accordance with statutes and regulations to solicit sources of goods and/or services and analyze prices, discount rates, delivery dates, transportation charges, previous performance of suppliers, current commitments, indications of financial responsibility, and recommend the most advantageous offer based on findings.

Positions may perform contract administration functions for the procurement of goods and services, including the development of bid specifications, management of competitive bid process, negotiating contracts, monitoring of suppliers, contractors and service providers’ performance in the fulfillment of their contractual obligations, and ensuring appropriate actions are taken to promptly remedy any deficiencies observed in contract implementation, scope or terms and conditions.

Responsibilities:

Specific duties include ensuring compliance of state and university policies; correlate received purchase orders with invoices and packing lists, verify accuracy of items received and quantity; generating ITB and RFP documents; maintaining purchasing data and providing analysis to management for capital equipment and fixed assets; receiving surplus equipment, preparing surplus worksheets, verifying serial numbers in database to verify if equipment is listed as inventory item or non-inventory; administrating the physical inventory process; generating engineering related purchase orders under $2000; and assigning red bar code fixed asset tags when new equipment arrives, preparing tagging sheet for accounting and entering fixed asset shell into Enterpriseone in order for accounting to receive the purchase order.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in business administration, procurement, supply/inventory operations or related field AND procurement related experience. Experience can be substituted for education on a year for year basis.
