Description:

NTV News has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Newscast Director (Technical Director)!  Newscast Directors are leaders in our newsroom and are critical to the success of or station.  In this role you will be a key asset to our overall mission to serve our viewers.  You will be a key leader, helping us to achieve our vison of being the best news station in the nation.

General Hours:

Local News is a 24/7 operation.  Standard shifts include 4:00 AM to 1:00 PM or 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM.  You will not work both mornings and evenings but rather all morning shifts or all evening shifts
Working days and/or days off will occasionally change based on Holidays, vacation days, sick days and special programming

Responsibilities:

Perform any and every production duties as assigned including: Direct and TD any assigned newscasts and productions Create graphics daily using Axis and the Ross Xpression CG Train production crew in cameras, audio, video editing, graphics, etc. Supervise production crew on a daily basis Maintain production studio and control room (Including cleaning) Perform other tasks related to the position as assigned, which may include website and social contributions and producing In fact, in our newsroom, we often train directors to be producers.  This is a unique combination that helps us better understand each other's rolls and allows us to better serve our teammates

Requirements:

Experience Directing and TDing newscasts Ross Carbonite experience is a plus Knowledge of production standards and equipment Full working knowledge of Avid, Adobe Creative Suite a bonus Ability to clearly give direction to crew while under pressure Typing, good spelling and proofreading skills are necessary Ability to read and write in AP style. A degree in Journalism is preferred Must be able to lift & position camera equipment including tripods and lighting gear
