KCRG-TV9 is seeking two interns to work and learn as part-time, paid multi-media journalists in the newsroom. This position gives first-hand experience of reporting – shooting and editing video, interviewing sources, researching information, writing scripts, building digital stories. The goal is to leave you ready for your first professional job in the TV news industry.

Responsibilities:

Duties/Responsibilities of the internship include (but are not limited to):
  • Shoot and Edit Video
  • Develop story ideas around local news and events
  • Research and gather information
  • Write news content for TV and digital platforms
  • Produce videos and graphics for digital platforms

Requirements:

  • This position is designed to build on journalism knowledge. Applicants should have completed at least basic college coursework in journalism or related major or have equivalent professional experiences. Must pass preemployment drug screen and maintain a safe driving record.
  • As a condition of employment, Gray Television will require that newly hired employees, whether part-time or full-time, be fully vaccinated against the coronavirus by the first workday to the extent permitted by applicable law unless you qualify for a medical or religious accommodation.

  • KCRG-TV9 is the ABC affiliate based in Cedar Rapids, Iowa with bureaus in Dubuque and Iowa City covering all of Eastern Iowa.
