KAIT-TV in Jonesboro, Arkansas is looking for a dynamic, knowledgeable weekend meteorologist to take the reins on our weather coverage for weekend evening newscasts. The ideal candidate will have a passion for weather, the ability to perform interactive live shots and thrive in covering severe weather. This meteorologist will be afforded the opportunity to work with an A+ weather team and provide weather and news content for broadcast, digital and social platforms.
Responsibilities:
General Responsibilities: · Create and deliver compelling weather content for broadcast, digital and social platforms · Possess excellent communication skills on air, online and in-person · Be fluent in the latest weather technology · Be a passionate, accurate forecaster · The ability to act as a multimedia journalist to assist news team in gathering content · Other duties as assigned by News DirectorRequirements:
Qualifications/Requirements: · Minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree in Meteorology or Atmospheric Science · Strong verbal and written communication skills · Must be a team player · Must be willing to work flexible shifts, including holidays and on-call shifts · Valid driver’s license and good driving record · Excellent presentation skills, judgment, and ethics · Must possess an understanding of digital/social media platforms and strategy · Ability to work well under pressureContact:
