KAIT-TV is looking for the next morning anchor for the #1 rated “Good Morning Region 8.” The ideal candidate will be a passionate journalist, aggressive about covering local news. You should be an energetic “morning person” who confidently delivers the news viewers need to start their days. We need an anchor who is involved in the day-to-day operations of the newsroom, including developing and turning enterprise and investigative content.
Responsibilities:
Your responsibilities will include (but not be limited to) the following: · Anchoring at least 2.5 hours of news a day · Collaborating and assisting producers with treatment and writing of new content · Researching, gathering, shooting, writing and editing news stories for on-air and online · Completing regular franchises or special investigative reports · Writing in a clear, concise, conversational manner · Reporting “live” on the scene during breaking news or weather · Developing and maintaining sources of information · Demonstrating sound news judgment · Participating in story selection meetings · Posting and regularly updating stories and other material on the web and social media · Interacting with viewers on social media, including regular presence on Facebook Live · Meeting tight deadlines and working well under pressure · Performing other job-related duties as assignedRequirements:
Qualifications/Requirements: · At least two years experience in a commercial news room · Bachelor in journalism or related field preferred · Knowledge of ENPS and Edius is a plus · Clean driving recordContact:
