KAIT, Gray Media’s number 1 station in Jonesboro, Arkansas is searching for the next anchor for its #1 rated 10 P.M. newscasts. The ideal candidate will be energetic, passionate and aggressive about covering the news that matters to our viewers. When not on the news desk, this anchor will investigate the issues and challenges our community faces. This person will exhibit all of the tenets of investigative journalism, including holding the powerful accountable, getting answers and advocating for the people of Region 8.
Responsibilities:
General Responsibilities: * Anchoring top rated 10 P.M. newscasts * Researching, gathering, shooting, writing and editing news stories for on-air and online * Completing regular franchises or special investigative reports * Writing in a clear, concise, conversational manner * Reporting “live” on the scene during breaking news or weather * Developing and maintaining sources of information * Demonstrating sound news judgment * Participating in story selection meetings * Posting and regularly updating stories and other material on the web and social media * Interacting with viewers on social media * Meeting tight deadlines and working well under pressure * Performing other job-related duties as assignedRequirements:
Qualifications/Requirements: * At least two years experience in a commercial newsroom * Bachelor’s in journalism or related field preferred * Knowledge of ENPS and Edius is a plus * Clean driving recordContact:
