Description:

KTTC-TV in Rochester, Minnesota, is looking for a dynamic, energetic anchor to join our weekday evening newscast team. This anchor will work closely with their producer, the nightside executive producer, and the news director to develop new and creative ideas on how to best bring fresh content to viewers. As an anchor, a successful candidate will push the limits on our evening newscasts.

Responsibilities:

KTTC views our anchors as engaging and dynamic storytellers, not just news readers.  Working closely with a producer and the nightside executive producer, this anchor will deliver newscasts taking full advantage of KTTC resources, guiding reporters daily on how best to tailor their content to a newscast and digital platforms. Our anchors will meet the audience where they are on digital. That means anchoring on our streaming platforms and bringing exclusive content to our online audience.  A successful candidate will view the anchor desk as merely one place to deliver news from, not a home base. Please note - primary job duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the information listed above.

Requirements:

Qualifications/Requirements: KTTC News is a ratings leader in our market. This position is suited for someone who has some experience anchoring a newscast. The ideal candidate will be able to enterprise timely, relevant content for KTTC viewers, manage their time effectively, and handle breaking news calmly. Our newsroom is committed to bringing viewers in-depth coverage on the day’s stories. Our anchors lead the way on digging deeper each night, sharing the “how” and “why” from the day’s news. KTTC also promotes professional development by sending employees to conferences annually hosted by the Radio/Television News Directors Association, the National Association of Black Journalists, the Asian American Journalists Association, the National Association of Hispanic Journalists, the National Lesbian and Gay Journalists Association, the Midwest Broadcast Journalists Association, Investigative Reporters and Editors, the Poynter Institute, and others. We also take advantage of continuing education offered by Gray Television through interactive workshops offered at stations across the company.
  • Strong writing skills are encouraged Our newsroom uses ENPS and Edius software, experience with either is a bonus, but not required.  We will train you on how to use both
