Description:
KTTC-TV in Rochester, Minnesota, is looking for a dynamic, energetic anchor to helm our weekday 5pm newscast and innovate on our digital platforms. This anchor will work closely with their producer, the night side executive producer, and the news director to develop new and creative ideas on how to best bring fresh content to viewers on KTTC News at 5pm and KTTC News Now, the station’s 24/7 digital stream.
Responsibilities:
As an anchor, a successful candidate will push the limits on our early evening newscast. KTTC views our anchors as engaging and dynamic storytellers, not just readers. Working closely with a producer and the night side executive producer, this anchor will deliver newscasts taking full advantage of KTTC resources. This anchor will also join a growing team of digital journalists in our newsroom. Along with a dayside digital anchor and the Digital Content Manager, this position will work to create digital-exclusive content for KTTC’s online platforms. Leveraging the resources of KTTC, Gray Television and the latest technology, this anchor will help create content for both on-air and digital broadcasts Please note - the primary job duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the information listed aboveRequirements:
Qualifications/Requirements:- KTTC News at 5pm is a ratings leader in our market. This position is suited for someone who has some experience anchoring a newscast. The ideal candidate will be able to enterprise timely, relevant content for KTTC viewers, manage their time effectively, and handle breaking news calmly. A large part of this job will involve using the KTTC News Now digital studio, an innovative set that allows one anchor the ability to control cameras, audio, video, live feeds and conduct virtual interviews all on their own. We will train you to use the digital studio, but some tech-savvy is helpful.
- Strong writing skills are encouraged. Our newsroom uses ENPS and Edius software. Experience with either is a bonus, but not required. We will train you on how to use both.
- KTTC also promotes professional development by sending employees to conferences annually hosted by the Radio/Television News Directors Association, the National Association of Black Journalists, the Asian American Journalists Association, the National Association of Hispanic Journalists, the National Lesbian and Gay Journalists Association, the Midwest Broadcast Journalists Association, and others. We also take advantage of continuing education offered by Gray Television through interactive workshops offered at stations across the company.
