Wyoming News Now is the dominant news source for the both the Casper and Cheyenne-Scottsbluff markets. Wyoming News now is made up of two stations, KCWY in Casper, and KGWN in Cheyenne, Wyoming.  A community along the Front Range of the Rocky Mountains, Cheyenne is home to F.E. Warren Air Force Base, the Capital City and Cheyenne Frontier Days, the world’s largest outdoor rodeo.  If you like outdoor recreation there are few better places in the country.

This position requires live reporting, creative shooting, writing, editing and posting stories.  The ideal candidate will be an independent thinker, self-starter and team player who is ready to work with the news department and be able to communicate effectively with management, staff and our viewers.  Must have good writing skills and must be able to work well under strict deadline pressure.


Duties/Responsibilities include (but not limited to):
  • Shoot, write and edit sports stories and highlights with an emphasis on covering local sports
  • Write and post sports stories on multiple social media and digital platforms
  • Report live from various sporting events
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Edius or other video editing programs is a plus
  • Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Schedule flexibility
  • Reporting, writing and shooting abilities for both web and broadcast news content
  • Computer literacy, including newsroom computer systems


  • Degree in journalism, broadcasting, communications or related field
