Position Overview
We are seeking a part-time Radio Producer. This individual will work closely with Cougar Sports Saturday on KSL NewsRadio, the legacy home of the BYU Cougars and KSL Sports. Our ideal producer is a highly skilled communicator who is passionate about sports, organized, and has an eye for news. For this role, we need someone who is proactive, a self-starter, and delivers content that meets the high standards of KSL NewsRadio & KSL Sports.
Note: Work configurations are subject to change based on business needs and at company discretion.
This position is an onsite role that requires the employee to regularly work at our Salt Lake site.
What You Will Do:
Primary job duties will include, but are not limited to:
Organize show run down
Create segment ideas
Clip audio soundbites that enrich the show
Guest booking
Produce radio show on weekends
Write quickly, clearly and accurately
Effectively and appropriately use social media, and KSL platforms to present content from show or on-location reporting
Work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
Meet deadlines
Coordinate with news desk any potential breaking news coverage
Other duties as assigned
Skills and Experience We Are Looking For:
College degree in communications preferred; Minimum: High School diploma
Adobe Audition, Photoshop, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Teams
Knowledgeable in BYU Athletics
Creative in the use of sound, production elements, audience engagement and news ideas
Self-motivated, creative individual, multitasker who can also organize and consistently display good judgement
Meet deadlines
Maintain positive and cooperative rapport with staff, management and clients
Physical Demands Receive, process, and maintain information through oral and/or written communication effectively.
Manual dexterity and fine motor skills to operate computer keys and general office equipment. Ability to work on a computer for prolonged periods of time.
Sit and/or stand for extended periods of time.
