Position Overview
The Systems Engineer I role is an entry engineering role that works in conjunction and/or under the direction of the Manager of System Engineering supporting the technical infrastructure for the company.
Note: Work configurations are subject to change based on business needs and at company discretion.
This position is a hybrid role that requires the employee to sometimes work at our Salt Lake City site. This will include a schedule with certain days of the work week working from home, and certain days of the work week working in the office. Specific hybrid schedules will be determined based on business needs and evaluated by managers and senior management.
What You Will Do:
Responsible for the day-to-day operational support for the technical infrastructure required to support the company.
Deploys OS images and patches.
Assists in planning, testing, and implementing changes to the infrastructure with the goal of enhancing performance.
Performs and assists with installation of software and system upgrades.
Partners with security personnel to assist with security needs as the need arises.
Provides technical support by troubleshooting problems related to systems and infrastructure or platform performance.
Assists and works with other System Engineers to manage the company’s eMail filter and spam blocking software.
Documents complex procedures and troubleshooting procedures related to systems/network software and hardware.
Provides technical guidance and assistance to the service desk and end users as needed.
Assists in planning system automation as required for better efficiency.
Evaluates the existing systems and provides technical methods and ideas to improve functionality.
Ensures the highest level of systems and infrastructure availability.
Installs, configures, and tests application software, and system management tools.
Must be able to work nights and weekends as the need may arise.
Liaise with other System Engineers and Network engineers for problem resolution.
Provide tier 2+ support for problems relating to projects, remediation, hardware, and software.
Manage Active Directory network, which involves modifying group memberships, establishing permissions, and ensuring proper access to network resources such as mailboxes, file shares and printers.
Provide helpdesk support for escalated requests.
Provides oversight to projects pertaining to new software solutions or implementations that would benefit to the overall success of the Service Desk, Systems Team, or Network Team.

Knowledge and experience in all aspects of data center operations.
Understanding with systems monitoring and reporting.
Knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server OS. (2016-2022) and their functionality.
Knowledge of Microsoft Windows Workstation OS (various) and their functionality.
VMWare administration including vCenter, ESXI, and Horizon View a plus.
Intermediate level knowledge of Microsoft Office application (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, Visio).
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Cloud technology experience like Azure/AWS a plus.
O365 cloud experience a plus.
Understanding of and experience with projects, including project initiation, project scoping, deliverables, communication, timelines, coordination, and project closure.
Education and Experience
Associate degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related technical field; or equivalent experience.
Experience with enterprise level systems.
Physical Demands
Receive, process, and maintain information through oral and/or written communication effectively.
Manual dexterity and fine motor skills to operate computer keys and general office equipment. Ability to work on a computer for prolonged periods of time.
Sit and/or stand for extended periods of time.
Compensation
$56,300-$75,200 per year. Salary to be determined by multiple factors including but not limited to evaluation of the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant along with internal equity and alignment with market data.
