Position Purpose

The Network Engineer is a Mid-Level Network & Telephony role that works in conjunction and/or under the direction of the Director of Infrastructure, Operations, and Security supporting the corporate Network and Voice infrastructure for the organization.

 

This is a hybrid in-person/remote role that requires the employee to regularly work on-site. In order to enter Company premises, individuals must provide proof of vaccination against COVID-19 or evidence of a negative COVID-19 test within the previous seven days.

 

Essential Duties

1. Responsible for day-to-day security best practices across technology and the organization.

2. Maximizing Network & Telephony Performance through ongoing monitoring & troubleshooting.

3. Help develop and maintain company-wide best practices for Network Engineering

4. Assist with the design and implementation of new Network Solutions and/or improving the current networks.

5. Help with the Procurement and installation of Network/Telephony equipment.

6. Configuration of Firewalls, Switches, Routers to maintain and improve network efficiency and security.

7. Research security enhancements and make recommendations to senior leadership.

8. Stay up-to-date on information technology trends and security standards.

9. Updating network & telephony hardware to the latest approved firmware releases.

10. Administration & Management of telephony/voice systems.

11. Manage and improve wireless infrastructure across multiple locations.

12. Responsible for the design, implementation, and monitoring of the local and wide area networks of the organization.

13. Configures and installs network hardware and software to meet requirements and conform to technical Design Standards & Best Practices.

14. Work with the Technology & Security teams to perform tests and uncover network/system vulnerabilities.

15. Fix detected vulnerabilities to maintain a high-security standard.

16. Hybrid model of work will be allowed. This will include a schedule with certain days of the work week working from home, and certain days of the work week working in the office.

17. Manage RCA meetings following any technical or security incidents and help to implement improvements that come

Exceptional documentation and communication skills
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field. Degree may be substituted with equivalent experience
4+ year’s experience in information technology.
4+ year’s Experience in Network Engineering including both routing & switching.
3+ year’s experience with firewalls. PaloAlto experience preferred.
1+ year of wireless experience
VPN Experience
Telephony/Voice experience preferred and/or the desire to get training and become a telephony expert.
Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, communications and public relations skills.
Experience with Cisco Switches
Experience with Mitel or other telephony systems.
Nice to have: Cloud Voice experience with RingCentral, DialPad, or Zoom voice.
Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field; or equivalent experience.
4+ years of experience in IT
Typically requires a minimum 4+ years’ experience in technology preferably as a Network/Voice engineer.
Physical Requirements:

The person in this position must be able to remain in a stationary position about 50% of the time.
Occasionally move about inside the office to access server rooms, office machinery, or to communicate with co-workers, management, via email, phone, and or virtual communication, which may involve delivering presentations.
Ability to lift, carry, push, crawl, pull, or otherwise move objects. General office work involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time.
Ability to lift objects and equipment 25-50 pounds.
Travel Requirements

Occasional travel may be required to assess and provide service at other sites in Bonneville’s 6 markets that are in 5 states. Traveling includes overnight stays for work, training, or conferences.
