Director of Resource Management

We are looking for a Director of Resource Management to lead resource and project management at a fast-growing agency. This is a high-profile role, and we’re looking for a person who doesn’t mind the spotlight.

Job Summary

This is a new role at an agency that is growing, both domestically and internationally. As the Director of Resource Management, you’ll be responsible for creating and implementing the discipline of creative resource management across the agency’s multiple offices, with responsibility for allocating creative team members’ time across a variety of clients and commitments. In addition, you will manage our team of project managers, and own the company’s processes for consistently managing deliverables and timelines. This person will be a leader in the agency-they will build processes from scratch, and have responsibility that spans the entire agency.

Required Qualifications

10-15+ years of experience in project management, account management, or traffic
Advertising agency experience (or similar professional services company)
Experience measuring, tracking, and adjusting employee utilization
Comfortable building new processes from scratch
Nice-to-Have Qualifications

5+ years with specific creative resource management experience
Experience reporting directly to, and making recommendations to, the C-suite or executive team
Analytical skills, for tracking and making decisions based on data
Experience managing a team

Understand and manage workload for the entire creative department (and potentially other departments as we scale), reacting to frequent changes, new projects, changes in scope, etc. that can affect time allocations for each team member
Develop strong working relationships with Creative Directors and other agency leaders
Establish and maintain a line of sight across all agency projects
Help to estimate and assign creative team members to agency projects
Learn the capabilities of creative team members
Partner with creative department leadership to understand growth potential and plans for creative team members
Maintain a pool of freelance resources, and own the process for bringing in outside help to augment skill sets or adjust to sudden workload increases
Make FTE hiring recommendations based on trends in capacity and workload
Establish consistent project management processes, including tracking and reporting, across all projects and client work
Manage a dedicated team of project managers
