Keeping Central Nebraska Informed
Description:
Gather information and cover breaking news, events and local meetings. Prepare news stories for broadcast and postings on web page. Will also be an involved member of our very busy local sports team for play-by-play/color commentary and contribute to our work as Nebraska Cornhusker radio affiliates.
Responsibilities:
• Anchor 3 daily newscasts + 5 public affairs programs weekly • Cover breaking news, local meetings, community events, and post stories to SandhillsExpress.com • Play-by-play or color commentary for high school sports: football, volleyball, basketball, wrestling, baseball, golf, cross country & more • Contribute to Nebraska Cornhuskers coverage as an official Huskers Radio affiliate • Assist with live shows, remote broadcasts, severe weather coverage & station operations • Use audio, video & digital tools to enhance storytelling and sports coverageRequirements:
• Strong communication & writing skills • Knowledge of broadcast & web-based journalism principles • Comfortable on-air with news, sports, and live hosting • Ability to research, fact-check & deliver accurate, engaging stories • Team player ready to wear many hats in a dynamic, small-town radio settingContact:
