WNYT-TV NewsChannel 13/WNYA My4 Albany is participating in the Massachusetts Broadcasters Association Engineering Apprenticeship program for 2025. A candidate will be chosen to complete a Summer or Fall internship, up to 240 hours, in which they will be exposed to the full array of career opportunities available in the Engineering and IT areas of the TV Broadcast industry.

When extending an offer, the company considers a variety of factors such as (but not limited to) the candidate’s work experience, education/training & key skills as well as internal peer equity and other market and business considerations.
The pay for this position will be $15.50 per hour.

Responsibilities:

  • This opportunity provides interns with the chance to witness and experience first-hand the operational and technical procedures of a television station. The Apprentice can expect to do:
  • Master Control operations
  • General maintenance and IT work
  • Other engineering duties as assigned

Requirements:

In order to qualify for the apprentice program, students should:
  • May be entering their junior or senior year at an accredited college or university.
  • Be majoring in engineering, IT, computer programming, mechanics, or a broadcast-related field.
  • Have good computer skills, excellent written and verbal communication abilities and knowledge of current events. A 3.0 GPA or above is recommended.
  • Interview with WNYT/WNYA.
  • Be a Massachusetts resident OR a non-resident student currently attending an accredited college or university in the Commonwealth.
