Description: Interpret and analyze weather data to create local forecasts; develop graphics and presentation of weather information; report information “live” in scheduled newscasts and during unscheduled cut-ins as needed; report on a variety of subjects; deliver news stories; write stories for broadcast, participate in community outreach projects; other duties as assigned by managers.

Responsibilities:

Requirements: Education: College degree required; Journalism or Communications/emphasis in Meteorology or Climatology preferred. Skills: Thorough knowledge of all aspects of weather data interpretation and forecasting, including familiarity with computer hardware and software associated with such data retrieval and presentation; ability to deliver weather information in a concise and understandable way; ability to create computer-generated graphics. Experience: One year previous reporting, anchoring and forecasting experience at a commercial television station; other experience in weather forecasting helpful; AMS or NWA seal preferred. Experience using AccuWeather or WSI computer system a plus.
