Description: This position is responsible for general supervision and responsibility for all local sales efforts.
Responsibilities: -o- Manages sales efforts.
-o- Plans and develops means of achieving revenue goals for both broadcast and on-line.
-o- Responsible for motivating, communicating and training the Sales team on rates, tools, and techniques to generate revenue for the stations.
-o- Works with Director of Sales and sales management team on pricing and inventory management; communicates with Traffic to make decisions.
-o- Works with research coordinator and oversees publication of all sales research materials.
-o- Supports account executives in sales marketing efforts including use of qualitative research, vendor development and cross promotional opportunities.
-o- Prepares budgets and forecasts for monthly billing.
-o- Thinks creatively and able to lead the staff in the development of innovative ways to generate revenue from the many sales and marketing opportunities available.
-o- Assists Director of Sales on special projects as needed.
-o- Develops accountability among team members and developing new business revenue
Requirements: -o- Minimum 4 years sales management experience; prior broadcast sales management experience preferred. College degree in journalism or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
-o- Excellent people management skills.
-o- Excellent communication skills, conflict management and customer service skills.
-o- Strong organizational skills in a fast paced environment and deadline driven environment.
-o- Experience in Wide Orbit preferred.
-o- Knowledge of Microsoft products including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
-o- Position requires a valid driver’s license with an excellent driving history, as well as reliable transportation and proof of insurance.
